Project Of Month
54' X 74' Equipment Enclosure
October’s Project of the Month goes to this 54' x 74' Equipment Enclosure delivered by Brian Galloway of Indoff Inc. for Conmet, a manufacturing facility in Canton, NC. As Conmet expanded production to include foam padding, they needed an enclosure tailored to support this delicate process, where environmental control is key to quality and consistency.
Panel Built designed and constructed a 14' tall, two-wall enclosure that not only met these requirements but also featured a load-bearing roof for additional storage. The structure’s exterior was clad in Class A Fire-shield gypsum board, vinyl-finished for durability, while the interior was lined with FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic), ensuring a clean, resilient surface. This enclosure incorporated a one-pound density polystyrene core, achieving an R-Value of 11 for thermal insulation. To enhance insulation further, the suspended ceiling was lined with R-19 Kraft-faced fiberglass insulation batts, securing a stable internal environment.
For streamlined production access, four high-speed roll-up doors were installed, while the load-bearing roof was engineered to support a 30 PSF load, capable of handling an additional 1,200-pound air handler for effective temperature control. This enclosure stands as a testament to Panel Built’s commitment to providing custom solutions that support specialized industrial needs.
