31' x 100' 2-Story Mezzanine

When a flower company in Miami, Florida needed more storage space, they faced a common challenge—limited room to expand. Instead of building outward, they chose to build upward with a custom two story mezzanine system from Panel Built, delivered through our trusted dealer Atlantic Rack.

The 33’ x 110’ mezzanine added over 7,000 square feet of additional storage, effectively doubling their usable space without requiring a costly building expansion. Due to the size of the structural beams, holes were cut into the existing concrete floor to provide extra stability and ensure long term structural integrity.

To accommodate the company’s operational needs, the mezzanine features a combination of resin deck and bar grate flooring, balancing durability, load capacity, and ventilation for their storage requirements. Designed for strength and efficiency, the system supports a 125 PSF load capacity, making it ideal for heavy storage applications. Eight 6 foot double swing gates were also incorporated for easy material handling and accessibility.

For safety and longevity, the mezzanine was finished in high visibility, powder coated safety yellow and gray and was fully designed to meet IBC code compliance. By implementing this custom built solution, the flower company successfully expanded operations without the cost, time, and disruptions associated with new construction.
